If you are a marketer who has to work with email marketing, then you need a service that works the best. Email is an amazing way to reach people and provide them the information that you want to convey to them. Almost every company, which has an online presence, uses email marketing and it helps them promote their products and services or it can also be used just to keep the users updated by sending them updates about the product, services, tips etc. There are many uses of email marketing and it is an amazing way to stay in touch with your consumers and clients.

GetResponse Vs. MailChimp Vs. AWeber Vs. Constant Contact

But when it comes to email marketing and that too in an efficient way, you need a tool that provides you best in class services. A tool that will help you manage an email list that can be huge as a mountain but it can also be a great tool to help you build a big list if you are just starting out.

I have been using GetResponse since a long time. But it is not the only service that I use. As a matter of fact I use MailChimp, AWeber as well as Constant Contact and hence I decided to write a post comparing all these email-marketing services.

In this post I will be introducing all four of these services and we will compare them with each other and see which one hits the homerun.

Introduction of the four services

GetResponse

GetResponse is basically a new player in the field of email marketing. I have been a user since quite sometime now and I have noticed that GetResponse has become my favorite among all four of these tools because it not only has all the important features but the customization that you can do is amazing.

getresponse

As a GetResponse user, you have full control over the customization as I mentioned above. You can perform A/B testing and their email campaign tracker is really efficient so you can check the reaction and response of your users when they check out your email marketing campaigns in their email inboxes. This is one of the many reasons why GetResponse has become my favorite in such short time.

AWeber

AWeber is also one of the most used email marketing services and it comes with some great features such as Autoresponders – used for automatically trigger sending emails on the occasions or triggers that you might have set. Not only that but importing your email list is easy and they have a great collection of email newsletter formats that you can use.

Other features include performance tracking, building forms for campaigns etc. AWeber is a great email-marketing tool all in all.

MailChimp

MailChimp is also an email-marketing tool used by professionals who consider to the point and minimal interface and features the best. MailChimp has an impressive list management section where you can keep tabs on your email list.

mailchimp

You can check how your email marketing campaign is performing using the marketing tracker by MailChimp.

Constant Contact

Constant Contact is also a really great option for email marketers who need on the go features like premade templates that are also mobile friendly. You can create your newsletter using the drag and drop editor.

When it comes to list management, you can manage your lists and classify them into different categories and tags if you want to. Also, as soon as your send your campaign newsletters, you can just go ahead and start analyzing how the campaign is working with the real time reporting feature that they provide.

A comparison between the four players

Template Designing

All these services come with several premade templates that you can use just by clicking your mouse a few times. Out of all these four services, I find that AWeber has the largest collection of premade templates so if you are the kind of person who just wants to go ahead and start sending emails, these premade templates will provide you a lot of options.

Same thing is correct for both MailChimp as well as ConstantContact. But when I tried GetResponse, I found that GetResponse gave me a lot of power by directly handing over the customizability of the newsletter designs. Not only can we design some great looking custom templates, but these templates will be responsive as well and hence they can adapt to a mobile screen pretty well.

Some extra features you should look at

Before we start comparing the prices, I think we should look at the extra features that all these services have to offer. AWeber already has a huge collection of templates and it also has an option to set up an autoresponder.

But just one-way emails are not the way of marketing now, as people have become aware of how things work. GetResponse’s Autoresponder 2.0 is a great tool that you can use to make your email marketing campaigns interactive.

Also, let us not forget the A/B testing that we can do on GetResponse. As a marketer you can use this feature to make your campaign much better so that you get some great conversion rates.

Pricing War – Prices of all four services compared

GetResponse, AWeber, MailChimp and Constant Contact, all four of these services allow you to try the service for free so that you can use the service and decide if you want to continue with it or not.

Starting with AWeber, you can pay $19 a month for a list of the size of 500 subscribers and you will have no limits on the number of emails you could send. The top plan from AWeber, which costs $149, will allow you to manage 25000 subscribers at most.

But you can choose to use MailChimp that allows you to send 12000 emails to 2000 subscribers in the free plan. But after the 12000 email mark, you will need to pay $10 for 500 subscribers and more the number of subscribers there will be, more money you will need to pay so moving to a new service with huge number of subscribers will be tough.

On Constant Contact the free version will only stay free for 60 days. After the trial period, you will need to pay for the service that starts at $20 a month for 500 subscribers.

Whereas on GetResponse, you have paid plans starting from $15 a month for 1000 subscribers which makes a lot of sense as compared to the starting paid plan from other tools. GetResponse definitely seems to be the most viable option out of the four.

Verdict

In this post we have compared total of four services that include AWeber, GetResponse, MailChimp and Constant Contact. We noticed that where AWeber has a larger collection of premade templates but you can customize GetResponse templates in a better way and they will be responsive as well same in case of Constant Contact so at the end of the day I will prefer GetResponse among them.

GetResponse also has an A/B Testing feature, which will let you plan your campaign in a better way where MailChimp lags in it. The point should be noted that with all these features, GetResponse is also the most pocket friendly service of the bunch as it starts at $15 a month for 1000 subscribers and hence I think GetResponse takes the advantage here, clearly!
